AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — After noticing an uptick in the number of flu cases across the area, BSA CareXpress wants to remind residents that it’s not too late to get a flu shot.

“Up until recently, the flu season has been pretty mild,” Anastacia Nix, MD, with BSA CareXpress on Ross-Osage said. “However, we’re starting to see more cases daily.”

“Nobody enjoys being sick, and we want to make the process of feeling better as easy as possible,” Nix added.

BSA CareXpress accepts most major insurances and offers affordable self-pay options. No appointments are necessary at any CareXpress locations.

“We like to think of it as health care on demand,” Vice President of Operations for BSA CareXpress Trevor Spradling said. “You don’t need an appointment, and if you don’t have insurance, we have plenty of options for you so you can get to feeling better.”

BSA CareXpress also encourages people to practice proper preventative measures to help prevent the flu from spreading.

“Staying home from work, washing your hands, and making sure you and those around you get a flu shot will help,” Nix said.

Flu symptoms can include fever, upset stomach, muscle aches, sore throat and a cough. It is advised to seek medical attention within the first 48 hours of noticing symptoms.

BSA CareXpress has five locations throughout Amarillo and Canyon.
